honestly the opening is what lost me my first time playing fallout 4. they decided the character for you. you are a man out of time on the night he was supposed to give a big speech, (potentially about his service) one of the most important days of his life probably. you get ready with your wife and then you head out to...ok maybe we have some time to wait. i guess ill check out the kitchen. "ooh whats in the fridge? oh i recognize those things! aha funny little dialougue about it thats cute. oh someones at the door." you play with your son and suddenly your robot butler sounds scared. you check the news. thank GOD vault tec called earlier with enough time to get me signed into the vault between now and then. my heart starts racing GET TO THE VAULT NOW!! and my family make it. distressed and confused. panicked and hoping your family ia safe. the vaults are fully packed with staff and everyone got the notice to move in what? 20 minutes ago? strange ok? bethesda for you. they take you through a safe, clean, slow paced enviroment. you get frozen or in this case almost like you blink with your eyes open, light suddenly stinging and you dont understand whats going on. you can see your wife and child. theyre safe. boom. they werent safe. "youre the back up" everything happens again. you wake up again and youre let free. panicked you run your wifes door. you fumble and scream and eventually you get it open. you are freaking out "why did vault tec do this! what did they mean by backup? i felt the panic in his voice. the first thing hed do is drop to his knees and scream. he wouldnt have accepted it that easily. he wouldve been distraught the door opens "ill avenge you" w h a t so...hes unaffected? hes just kind of angry? hes not like...even that determined? uh ok...cool. i guess ill uh...leave the vault. was this even vault tecs scheme? damn what the fuck was that? "ok cool so my character actuallt didnt really give a fuck about his wife or son i get it this is like the "free slate" moment. i create him from here then...cool?" i forgot about my son at this point. you all know the rest, learn how to fight and get the pip boy. ok im not even roleplaying rn its just, dull cod...oh cool the reveal of the old world is fantastic! this is my character! the hopeless empty open of the world you once knew...destroyed but everything remains a ghost of the past. you are out there...10 minutes ago. keep in mind you were only in the vault for roughly 10-15 minutes in character time so it has literally been minutes! since you watched your wife die and son be stolen? nothing to like...say? ok cool so you dont care. you get out and see how empty it is and confused and hopeless you go home. forgetting all of your past life. its all behind you. everythings gone. vault tec is gone how could you ever find shaun? i guess ill check out my home for anything valuable, even if you forgot which house it was youll know cos therell be something to let you know "this was your house" is that fucking codsworth? its codsworth so i guess i do care? how the fuck is codsworth still here? was this place never raided? "my wife and son were taken!" oh shit breakdown voice i do really really care. im going to stop narrating it from here and instead talk about what i think went wrong with this. before i even made it to preston garvey i was unsure what direction my character was supposes to go. they gave you so much. too much. "i am a family person with (potential) military service. either me or my spouse are making a speech at the veterans ball tonight. my son is in his cradle, my robot butler tells you he serves baby milk at an absurdly high temperature. the vault tec man calls you are now signed up for the vault, effective immediately (did noone else think this was the plot when they first played this i never see anyone talking about this) and the nukes are dropped the vaults are fully packed you watch your spouse attempt to protect your child and their life is taken for it. you care...for 30 seconds. you see a fucking radroach and you have to kill like 20 of them some up close and you...dont care...you leave to see your world desteoyed and you dont...care. sure its all striking the first time but the exact moment you see codsworth you can not lie to me and say "oh yeah i understand who my character is, what their beleifs are, how theyll talk to people and how theyll treat people in conversations. you are some sort of memory loss schizoid person who generated a personality that changes depending on eah and every person you intwract with based off of random things. "oh ill wear this outfit for this one instance and while doing it...ill tall in a funny voice" is not something i expected my character to do. but he did it. helping preston garvey build up sanctuary isnt what i expected to do either. ive got a dog and a mission to find my son im sorry i dont care that you need settlements...alright but the quest ends over there so like ill...do this. by the time youre in diamond city. tell me. who is your character. go to the different vendors and see how your character treats them. sarcastic wise guy trope. go greet the water kid and threaten him to not lower his prices. when i saw the charisma colour i thought itd be a persuade, trick this kid into giving me some of the water i desperately do not need. no i threatened him. at every opportunity i lost my character and the one thread i hung on to. once i found out the institute was creating synths. i dropped out. i kept playing after kellogs death. but i didnt care. "wow thats a big airship with brotherhood of steel...oh cool so theyre here too now?...really doing...well for themselves in the uh...apocalypse. nice. oh were building a teleporter but we have to do other shit first cool. im just doing random bullshit now...guess ill...help the minute men. wow didnt care about that. i get to the institute and it looks so amazing and had my brain racing (like this has been built up) holy shit theres your son and hes like 7? he doesnt trust you. i was in power armour, i had "ranked up" a bit through the brotheehood and had some pretty sweet mods, he was wielding a legendary fully automatic plasma gun wirh whatever. that door opemed and i unloaded. wasnt supposes to do that apparently my character wasnt .y character i had moments of roleplaying in fallput 4. outside of the areas where my character wouldnt be attached to anything. no dialogue but my own. id make up small adventure stories about what i could be experiencong out in the wastelamd until i have to...play the game and then i make up anpther one. im bored, im going to stop playing. the only reason i ever picked it back up is because my prerelease hype had convinced a friend to buy the game after release and thought it was really good. he texts me excited to talk about it cos we been out of contact for a while. i tell him i hate the game (15 year old angst and that) and he tells me to finish it and ill lpve it. play the dlc far harbpur os so good. i played both of them, i treated it like a janky mashup of rust, gta and borderlands but with skyrims bones and fallouts skin draped over it with everything except for the local lore dumps being very poorly written so i didnt care at all. i stopped caring 40 minutes into the game and ive played it for weeks straight and months straight. ive restarted it many times and even just started using a save at the end of the vault and every single time it wasnt a roleplaying game. so i couldnt stand the terrible controls and engine. the gameplay is like...a little fun yeah sometimes and all im doin is..loot collecting but its atteched to my gear and ignoring every quest like im in los santos without a fuck to give when suddenly im "mister noble the most sarcastic of house "where son" ive beat the game. it let me know bethesda dodnt know what thy were doing, its been disillusionment since edit: i am so sorry about the length of this

There's kaycee's mod update that's very cool, it gives out much more lore and it let's you replay the 1st chapter again and again with different stuff happening (and it can be modded)

Great video but I wish you would have covered the DLC, shale is a great companion and awakenings is some great post game content

I hate Solas so much it's unreal. I hate that the game forces you to have him in the Inquisition, even when he openly abuses you for making choices he doesn't agree with, or is openly racist to you (as he is to everyone, even elves). I hate that there is no option to expose him or discover the truth, you are forced to be his dupe no matter what. I hate how stupidly OP he is by the end, while the Inquisitor is maimed and stripped of their rank no matter what, and will never be able to settle the score. I hate the extent to which the story revolves around this arrogant, obnoxious narcissist. He's the reason I haven't replayed this game for years, Trespasser depresses me in real life because it's such a triumph for Solas, and a truly miserable send-off for the Inquisitor.

In my current playthrough, Wynne left my party when I corrupted the Urn of Sacred Ashes.. She was not very nice in Amaranthine, but still gave me the quest to find her friend. Also, Inquisition is awful.. its Dragon Age in name only..

My interpretation about the AI dad saying he loved his son is not actually that the dad thought that, but that the AI had more empathy than his actual father and wanted to comfort him before he left. We already knew that the AI cared more about the ecosystem than the actual person, so I bet the AI was just a better father, too.

I will say the hotel TERRIFIED ME. if you think that the side characters of the game are basic and have no personality or flaws or problems that made them interesting the you obviously didn't take the time to talk to any of them outside of cut scenes and story forced conversations. to get to know them you have to actually put in the effort, i mean its ok, i missed a lot of that stuff my first playthrough too, you basically have to go back to camp and talk to them every time you advance the story. kinda tedious but its worth it. honestly you miss a whole bunch of content by not

saying that the combat is a little clunky is fair but it was pretty fluid for its time definitely a step up form kotor and the fact that you cant seem to use there abilities on the fly as well as style changes and magic and wepons added its actualy pretty good combat system an the amount you bitch about makes me think that you're bad mouthing a game when you just have a skill issue.

Honchcrow is one of my favorite Pokemon to come out of gen 4, I just love that smug bastard, and I can’t not name him Don Crowleone, Mismagus might be one of my favorite ghost types, I love Electivire, and Magnezone. I feel like gen 4 had a few gems, and the rest were just meh.

To be honest with the remake of this and any search for the original Paper Mario on Nintendo 64 having more results for Thousand Year Door over the original and all the controversies over the remake make me not care at all about the game at all, but I did like the original Nintendo 64 game and Origami King

I just almost finished playing fallout 2. It was amazing. Even and especially in 2024. Go play it! There is a whole lot more to say about the vice president at the enclave rig, though. Almost all of his nonesensical quotes are real quotes by a real us vice president. The social commentary in this game is great.

This game was honestly just really funny. It's meant to be over the top ridiculous silly. Game was kinda short. But I think they did an awesome job with companions.

it's a shame, it had the potential to be a very good game with some changes. if they: 1. diverged form the open world idea with vast uninteresting areas. 2. rebalanced the combat. basically make everything and everyone less tanky, as it was in DA2, because the fundamental combat mechnanics are indentical, but it feels so slow paced compared to da2, because even skill combos can't kill the most basic enemy 3. incorporated Trespasser into the main game. A) It is vital to the plot. B) Corypheus was such a lame antagonist.
